About Our Program
It is more important than ever to support your children in developing a strong sense of faith, community and love for Christ! SSPP's Religious Ed program aims to educate students in the beauty and grace of traditions handed down from Christ himself and give them the tools to develop a strong relationship with our Lord and other key role models in our faith. The support of our community can help us answer the call to love God and others while learning the true meanings behind Christ's teachings. Faith development is a lifelong journey, and we work to provide a lasting foundation for the start of that path!
A adaptive learning environment ... Classes are offered Wednesday evenings 4:30-5:50 and 6:30-7:50 for grades Kind through 7th, following a similar schedule to the school year. Classes are taught by volunteers--parents, adults, college students and confirmed teens. Teachers are provided opportunities for special training and ongoing support, and provided with materials to be successful in passing on the Faith. Teachers employ the use of verbal instruction, crafts, activity pages, videos, skits, church visits, books, group discussion and other tools to engage students in class.
A comprehensive program ... Our program expects the involvement of families for reviewing book chapters/faith topics at home each week. Additionally, families are asked to help students engage in their faith by participating in special events and the Sacraments, implementing service projects, and tapping into the knowledge of our clergy.
Partnering in faith formation ... We are partners in the faith formation of your child(ren), with key support and involvement beginning at home! Parents are always welcome to stop in for class, and reach out with questions or to let us know how we can further enhance faith discussions at home, especially when coming from diverse faith backgrounds.
We look forward to adding you to our RE family!
